Grants are Available NOW!

Currently, there is help available from various sources for improving your loft insulation, installing cavity wall insulation, draught proofing and heating upgrades or repairs. Grants are available to home owners and tenants (with owners permission), and range from 50 - 100% of the true cost.

Paperwork is very  straightforward and is completed on the day by the surveyor. The whole survey process normally takes about 30 - 60 minutes. Your contribution (if any) to the total cost of the insulation will be explained at the time of survey and confirmed in writing if you choose to go ahead. (See examples below)

Completely free?

It may be possible that you qualify for a 100% grant and would therefore pay nothing at all. If you are in receipt of certain benefits and can provide proof to the surveyor, please indicate this on the contact form.

Some Pricing Examples.

1.    The property is a 1940's 2 Bedroom mid-terrace with mains gas central heating. The householder receives Child Tax Credit and has an annual income of £13800. There is no loft insulation at all.

Result;- Cavity Wall Insulation and Loft Insulation including tank and pipe insulation are installed completely free of charge, resulting in a possible saving on the heating bill of up to 60%.

2.    The property is a 3 bedroom detached bungalow built in the 70's with two retired occupants who receive a small amount of Pension Credit. Loft insulation is deemed adequate by the surveyor, but on checking there is found to be no insulation in the walls.

Result;- There is a cavity wall area of 100sq. metres which is insulated with the aid of a 100% grant, meaning they pay nothing at all! This could reduce their energy bill by 30%.

3.      The property is a 1960's 3 bedroom semi-detached house, with no loft insulation and unfilled cavity walls. Heating is via mains gas central heating. None of the occupying family receive benefits.

Result;- Cavity wall insulation is installed at a cost to the householder of  just £250. The family accept the surveyors recommendation to install loft insulation to 250mm depth at an additional cost of £200, which represents around 50% of the true market price. The rest of the cost is covered by the grant. Both measures together could save this household over £200 per year on their heating bills, according to figures produced by the leading energy providers.

Heating costs obviously vary according to property size, type, exposure, occupancy and the level of insulation present. Therefore savings in heating costs can only be estimated but are based on data provide freely by the leading energy suppliers.

The contribution to cost paid by the householder varies with the area of wall or loft to be insulated and will be quoted following the survey.

The contribution to cost varies depending on the grant provider. The above prices are examples only, are typical of many schemes available and are not intended as a quotation of any sort.
